Monthly Meetings
Our club holds monthly meetings that range from a series of events. These meetings are an opportunity for members to network with professors, alumni, etc. and learn more about the economics major. The most popular meetings include professor meet-&-greets, UNC alumni panels, and speaker series.

Social Outings
Although WIE is academic focused, we want to have members connect socially as well. We want this club to be a resource for students in the economics & STEM majors to connect with fellow students with similar interests. Our social outings include group dinners, end-of-semester celebrations, etc.

...And More!!!
WIE is always looking to move our club to new opportunities to further our reach. We have expanded our club by partnering with other UNC clubs and promoting non-UNC economics events to our members.

I joined Women in Economics during my freshman year after Dr. Staub told my ECON 101 class about the club. I knew I wanted to get involved on campus, and the Women in Economics Club provided me with a welcoming community of students who have the same interests as I do. The club has not only provided me with information regarding economics, but has allowed me develop professionally, network with professors and alumni, and meet students who have the same major as me. Joining Women in Economics (and the executive team) was one of the best decisions I've made at Carolina. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
